9 to 5 Movie Re-Boot Starting To Shoot

Dolly Parton expects to start shooting the sequel to 9 to 5 very soon. The country music icon will reunite with co-stars Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin to play three former secretaries who took on a horrible boss to create a more female-friendly work environment in the classic 1980 comedy. In the new film, a younger group of women reaches out to the original three characters for help. Actress, writer and producer Rashida Jones is working on the update with Patricia Resnick, who wrote the original screenplay.

Tim Conway Passed Away

The man who won four Emmy Awards as part of the Carol Burnett Show, starred on McHale’s Navy, and later voiced Barnacle Boy for SpongeBob SquarePants, has died at 85. Conway passed Tuesday morning in a Los Angeles care facility after a long illness. Conway’s wife, Charlene Fusco, and a daughter, Jackie, were at his side.

Josh Gad to Lead a Honey, I Shrunk the Kids Reboot 

Walt Disney Pictures has cast Josh Gad, 38, in an upcoming reboot of the popular 1989 movie Honey, I Shrunk the Kids. The movie will take place decades after the first, with Gad starring as the grown-up son of scientist Wayne Szalinski. Comedic actor Rick Moranis starred as Wayne in the first movie. The new movie is set to recreate the premise, with Gad’s Nick Szalinski accidentally shrinking his own kids, setting up the new story.
