James Corden Leaving ‘The Late Late Show’ In 2023
“I’m thrilled to be extending [for a year]. I always thought I’d do it for five years and then leave, and then I stayed on. I’ve really been thinking about it for a long time, thinking whether there might be one more adventure.”
Corden signed a contract to host The Late Late Show, which was hosted for nine years by Craig Ferguson, in 2014 and premiered on March 23, 2015.
Jennifer Grey, 62, RETURNS as ‘Baby’ in Dirty Dancing sequel
Nearly 35 years after the original Dirty Dancing hit theaters, a new sequel is in the works, with Jennifer Grey slated to return.
Lionsgate made the announcement during their CinemaCon presentation on Thursday evening, via EW.
While no further details were given, a voiceover during the presentation simply said, ‘Jennifer Grey returns to Kellerman’s in the next chapter,’ with Kellerman’s the upscale Catskills resort where the original 1987 classic was set.
‘Hunger Games’ Announces Prequel ‘Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes,’
At CinemaCon Thursday night Lionsgate brought a teaser for “Hunger Games” prequel “The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes” to the annual trade show for theater owners.
The clip didn’t show any footage from the movie, which is currently in production, nor did it reveal the cast of the film. Instead, the clip panned over striking shots of icy tree branches and a eye-catching gold as text scrolled that reads, “The world will discover… who is a songbird… and who is a snake.”
Lionsgate also announced the movie will be released in theaters on Nov. 17, 2023.
“The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes” takes place decades before the adventures of Katniss Everdeen and centers on young Coriolanus Snow, who eventually becomes the tyrannical president of Panem.
Famous Chimp. from Movie “Buddy” Is Missing
Actor Alan Cumming is offering a $10,000 reward for anyone who has information about Tonka, the missing chimpanzee who starred with him and Rene Russo in the 1997 family comedy “Buddy.” Tonka was last seen in a cage at the now-defunct chimpanzee breeding facility Missouri Primate Foundation in Festus, Mo. Chimpanzees were bred at the location and then rented out for movies and parties or sold to private owners. PETA has put up its own $10,000 reward for information about Tonka’s whereabouts, bringing the total reward to $20,000.
“During the months we filmed together, baby Tonka and I became good friends, playing and grooming each other and just generally larking about,” Cumming said in a statement. “It’s horrible to think he might in a cage in a dark basement somewhere or have met some other fate, so I’m appealing to whoever knows what has become of him to please come forward claim the reward.”
Anyone with pertinent information should call PETA at 757-622-PETA or submit their tips at PETA.org/Tonka.
Why 7 HOURS of sleep – not 8 – is the perfect amount
Eight hours is no longer the ideal duration of sleep each night in middle age, according to science. Cambridge University researchers are now recommending people get seven hours — which they say is the sweet spot for general health and warding off dementia. The downgrade comes after studying the sleep pattern of half a million people aged 38 to 73. Seven hours is the ideal amount of sleep for people in their middle age and upwards, with too little or too much sleep associated with poorer cognitive performance and mental health, say researchers from the University of Cambridge and Fudan University. So ‘over sleeping’ is just as bad as ‘under sleeping’.
