Pandemic Relief Package Goes To The President’s Desk

The House approved a sweeping pandemic relief package yesterday. Now, it will be sent to President Joe Biden to be signed into law. The milestone would provide $1,400 checks for most Americans and direct billions of dollars to schools, state and local governments, and businesses.

Britney Spears Addressed In Congress

Her father is hitting back at the House Republicans who called for a hearing on legal conservatorships in light of the #FreeBritney movement, which has sparked public concern over the lack of control the popstar appears to have over her life. Vivian Thoreen, the attorney representing Jamie Spears, slammed Reps. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) and Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) for calling on House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerrold Nadler (D-NY) to hold a hearing, and referring to Jamie’s motives as “questionable.” Thoreen argued the conservatorship is a system with checks and balances, including annual reviews from experts.
