‘Mattress Mack’ Brought 55 Rally Nuns to World Series

Our Podcast is more fun to listen to that this article is to read, just sayin’. : )

He is most famous for opening his store’s doors for family’s to shelter during hurricane Harvey.

He is also everybody’s favorite sports bettor, Jim “Mattress Mack” McIngvale, was looking for some extra luck heading into the baseball play-offs.

And here is why: McIngvale will win a record $22 million on a $2 million bet if the Astors win it all.

The Astros made the playoffs so McIngvale thought it would be nice to bring nuns to Minute Maid Park, He bought out a section for 55 Dominican Sisters of Mary Immaculate Province Nuns to sit. The Astros went on to win.

Following that key win, fans began calling the group of nuns the “Rally Nuns.”

Mattress Mack decided to bring the group of nuns back for Game 6 of the ALCS, which resulted in the Astros winning and advancing to the World Series against the Atlanta Braves.

So he purchased 55 tickets for the nuns to go to the World Series.

Unfortunately the Rally Nuns didn’t bring the Astros much luck in Game 1 as the Braves beat the Astros 6-2

But the nuns were back at the ballpark yesterday to watch the Astros win 7-2. The series is tied at 1

Today is a travel day, Mack hasn’t said if he will be sending the Nuns to Atlanta for game 3.

McIngvale is no stranger to betting on the Astros. In 2014, he refunded $4 million to customers.

Last year, McIngvale offered refunds on purchases of $2,000 or more to those who correctly guessed which party would win the presidential election. That resulted in $10 million worth of refunds.
