The arrival of Daylight-Saving Time this weekend means one less hour of sleep, a darker morning commute and the potential for more sleepy drivers on the road. AAA is reminding drivers to adjust their sleeping habits along with their clocks, to stay alert behind the wheel and to look out for pedestrians, especially children who will be on their way to school and may be hard to see.

Denise, Cancer and Heart Disease Survivor. Denise was 32 years old when she was diagnosed with Stage 1 Triple Negative Breast Cancer which required 16 rounds of chemo, followed by a double mastectomy. She recovered to find herself back in the hospital where she learned that she was septic and in congestive heart failure. She joins the show to share her journey.  https://www.heart.org/en

Matthew J. O’Connor, MD, is a board-certified attending cardiologist in the Cardiac Center and the Medical Director of the Heart Failure and Transplant Program at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Dr. O’Connor is focused on the immunological aspects of heart transplantation in children, specifically the impact of anti-HLA antibodies, a major source of rejection following heart transplantation. Mekaela Davis, Heart Disease Survivor. Mekaela is a mother of four, tech industry leader, and fitness enthusiast that nearly lost her life due to a total heart blockage in her sleep. She had an implantable heart monitor tracking her heartbeat while she experienced the blockage. She had no idea it happened until 3 days later when her doctor saw the results (three day lag in transmitting the data). She was given a pacemaker to ensure a regular heart rhythm, but her heart coming back from that blockage is nothing short of a miracle.
