Elvis Has Left The Wedding Business – Here’s What’s Snappinin’

Las Vegas chapels are ordered to stop using Elvis Presley’s Likeness in Themed Weddings

Listen to our What’s Snappenin’ Podcast for all the fun:

Authentic Brands Group, who controls the use of the likeness of Elvis Presley, has sent cease and desist letters to all 55 Las Vegas chapels, warning them that they are not allowed to use “Elvis Presley’s name, likeness, voice image, and other elements of Elvis Presley’s persona in advertisements, merchandise, and otherwise.”

It’s not yet known whether Authentic Brands Group will license the use of Elvis to these chapels. But as of now, NO ELVIS WEDDINGS.

The move could drastically change the $2 billion Vegas wedding industry.

Kourtney Kardashian Barker and Travis Barker just tied the knot at a Las Vegas chapel in April with an Elvis impersonator.

In 2020, Stranger Things David Harbour Married Actress Lilly Allen at the Graceland Wedding Chapel

Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas said “I do” at the A Little White Wedding Chapel with Elvis.

The letters have no impact on Elvis impersonators who perform outside of a Wedding ceremony, as Nevada’s “right of publicity” statute protects Tribute Acts and Street Performers.

The order comes less than a month before the biopic “Elvis” is set to be released on June 24.
