Lexi Hinson Nominated Her Mom Jennifer Hinson

We talked to Lexi about her amazing journey:

My name is Lexi and I would like to nominate this most brave and wonderful teacher and mom, Mrs. Jennifer Hinson.
Just like any other teacher she works hard, spends long hours planning for the next day at work, and loves her students,
but there was this one time she went above and beyond.
When I was eight years old I was put in foster care and I was going through a really hard time getting older and
finding a home, but she stepped up, after one very long day at work she went to the foster agency and
signed up to be a foster parent just to take me in. After all of the long stressful meetings she finally got certified
to be a foster parent she also had a husband that went through the stressful time.
We became close while she was doing the meetings.
Then one day she came up to me and said I finally got certified to be a foster parent.
I was so excited once I came to their home we had tons of family time.
While I was in foster care we rode on several emotional roller coasters and played several waiting games.
But years later we finally got the very exciting news that they could finally adopt me!
We had a lot to do before I was adopted but it all ended in a dream come true.
I am now 13 and I was adopted last year on may 16, 2019.
She is not only my favorite teacher but also my favorite mom!
I love her because she is a super hard worker and mom!!!”

Lisa Nominated her husband David Ashdown
"My husband gave up a 6 figure paying job in his 30’s to fulfill his dream of teaching underprivileged children.
We have 5 kids outselves. He sacrificed to go back to school and become a teacher.
He has been a amazing teacher, role model for the children of Middletown!
If he won he would use the prize to give back to his kids at Mayfield.
He is a selfless, encouraging teacher. He uses money from his salary to pay for school supplies for his kids.
He is one of those teachers who kids want to be in his class and come back to see him.
He is making a difference everyday in the lives of theses kids.
It would be awesome for him to win this, because he truly deserves it. "
