Wilson welcomes baby son

Owen Wilson has welcomed a son with one-time personal trainer Caroline Lindqvist.

According to People magazine, Caroline gave birth on Thursday. This is Owen’s second child – he already has three-year-old son Robert Ford with ex-girlfriend Jade Duell.

“I can confirm they had a baby boy on Thursday morning,” Owen’s rep confirmed to People magazine.

“They are not living together, but Owen is involved [in the pregnancy]. He comes to doctor’s appointments and makes sure Caroline is doing well,” another source told the magazine.

The actor has spoken previously about how much fatherhood and being a parent has changed his life. According to Owen, he tries to show as much affection as possible.

“They say that the number one thing is to be consistent. I guess I try to do that a little bit,” Owen told ModernMom.com during a press tour for new movie Free Birds. “It sounds corny, but you can’t hug your kids enough and give them that confidence that they’re loved.”

Owen went on to say that he didn’t want to be an overprotective father. The Wedding Crashers star believes children are far more resilient and strong than adults realize.

“I don’t think it’s the end of the world taking and exposing your kids. I think maybe some violent stuff you would want to wait on, but, I think, sometimes, people can be overly protective,” he said. “You look at a story like Where the Wild Things Are, which I love – there’s a real edge to that story. And I think kids have a greater capacity or ability to deal with that stuff than maybe we give them credit for.”
