Weight: Down 115 pounds
The past week I’ve switched things up and sloooooowwwwweeeed down! I was dealing with my knee injury, added in a pulled pec minor muscle, then my lower back got in on the action. My body was telling me to rest, so I have been…kinda 😉
I’ve taken a week off at the gym, and took the advice of several people that I needed to give yoga another try. I hate yoga. Or at least I thought I did. I haven’t been to an official yoga class in over 5 years, and the ones I tried…wasn’t a fan. So I wrote it off that I hated it. BUT, after taking 3 different yoga classes in the past week……I kinda like it. The stretching hurts, but I know I need it. And I’ve taken some of the slower yoga classes, which is helping me chill out. I’m wound pretty tight, and I’m an adrenaline junkie, so relaxing doesn’t really come easy for me. So, I did something I thought I hated, and I’m actually looking forward to going again!
Also switched up my diet this week to try to get that dang scale moving again. I’ve been stuck, or up a couple pounds for over a month now.
I want to add, I’m not a dietician…what I’m doing is just experimenting and what works for one person doesn’t necessarily mean it works for everyone!
I dropped down from 1,800 calories a day to 1,500 since I’m not working out. Here’s what that looks like:

For a snack, hard boiled egg whites:
Lunch is 7oz chicken with one cup brussels sprouts and a small apple:
Afternoon snack is yogurt, blackberries, a cucumber and green pepper:
Dinner is 7oz fat free turkey, one cup asparagus, and a mango:
Also got prepped for the week with 7oz cod, 7oz grilled chicken, 7oz turkey, green beans, and broccoli:
My mother in law brought me a bunch of green beans from her garden, so for the first time I took a stab at freezing them:
So, there’s a look at my week! Moral of the story… don’t be afraid to try something new! If you don’t like it, move on and try something else! That’s pretty much how my whole weight loss journey has been, trial and error.
