Vanessa keeps dark secrets

Vanessa Hudgens

Vanessa Hudgens is careful not to share her “deepest darkest secrets” with just anyone.

The former High School Musical star tries to keep out of the limelight when she isn’t working, but doesn’t always succeed. Several years ago nude photos of her were leaked online and earlier this year she was accused of drug taking at the Coachella music event, but insisted the substance was just white chocolate.

“I couldn’t do anything but laugh. It’s amazing how people like to create something out of absolutely nothing,” she told US Marie Claire magazine of the drugs rumor. “I am human like everyone else. I am aware that there are people who look up to me. When mistakes are made, they aren’t intentional, and I constantly push myself to be a better person.

“It’s one thing to have a chat with someone, it’s another to have them know your deepest, darkest secrets. Just because people enjoy watching you in films doesn’t mean they have to know everything about your entire life.”

The 24-year-old star has several rules she tries to live by. She doesn’t check her phone when she is out with friends as she doesn’t want to miss anything that happens. Vanessa also believes in living for the moment, rather than obsessing about the past or worrying for the future.

Not much worries her and she’s even got used to be following by paparazzi. However, there is one thing which always upsets her greatly.

“When people fight. That gives me really bad anxiety. When people can’t resolve things, it really upsets me,” she said.

Vanessa is close to her family and will never forget how much they supported her when she was starting out. Initially her parents worried about her getting rejected for roles, but she always took negative comments well and realized it just meant the role wasn’t right for her.

“Money was a big thing. My parents drove me up to L.A., which cost a lot because of gas, and took out loans so that we could move from location to location to be close to L.A. The family definitely struggled. They were very supportive of me. They gave up a lot so that I could get to where I am,” she explained.

The star added she feels “powerful” because she is so comfortable with her life and hopes to win an Oscar one day.
