Underwood feels old

Carrie Underwood

Carrie Underwood feels old when she’s surrounded by teenagers.

The country singer turned 30 in March, still continues to produce smash hits and co-hosted the Country Music Awards alongside Brad Paisley last night.

While she’s still hot in the industry, Carrie is starting to notice her age.

“I feel old when I’m surrounded by younger people, or when I go to the movies and I’m like, ‘Teenagers – ugh!’ and I’m like, ‘Oh my gosh, I’m that person! I’m old,’” she laughed to Access Hollywood.

As well as hosting last night’s bash, Carrie was nominated for three awards, including the prestigious Female Vocalist of the Year.

While she didn’t pick up any prizes, she did look amazing onstage in a variety of outfits.

She performed a medley of four tracks at the event and singing has always been her big dream.

“I always wanted to sing. If you had asked me as like, a five year old, ‘What are you gonna be when you grow up?’ I would have been like, ‘I’m gonna be a singer,’ but I feel like, the older I got, the more practical I got,” she explained. “And everybody wants to be [a singer] and I’d hear other people on award shows or other people I knew sing and they were so awesome and they were so good.

“I lost my dream I guess as I got older and then everything just clicked into place. I was like, ‘Oh my gosh, I can’t believe I’m actually doing this!’”

George Strait took home the enviable Entertainer of the Year title last night, with nominated Taylor Swift to miss out.

Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert were named Male and Female Vocalist of the Year respectively.
