Tina Turner has denied suffering a stroke, insisting she is in “excellent health”.
It was reported by German and Dutch publications that the 74-year-old, who resides in Switzerland, fell ill and is currently recovering from the medical condition. A man called Albert B. Cologne who claimed to be Tina’s driver gave quotes to Germany’s news source Express, who originally printed the story.
However, the singer’s representative has slammed the rumors and insisted Tina is in fact fine.
“The fact is that Tina enjoys excellent health,” they said in a statement.
Tina’s representative also stated that the singer doesn’t have a driver named Albert. Albert had continued to claim the star had to change plans so she could convalesce.
“She had a mild stroke, but is well on the road to recovery,” he reportedly said. “Tina had to cancel her holiday to recover, she has already managed a smile for her partner Erwin Bach.”
The story has since been taken down from the source’s website.
Tina is even said to have attended the launch of her new album in Zurich last Thursday in perfect physical condition, greeting fans and standing out in a red and white dress.
In February the legendary musician’s close friend Oprah Winfrey slammed rumors of Tina suffering a stroke. She took to Twitter to share the truth and visited her close pal at her home in Europe.
“Tina had a bad flu weeks ago. She’s recovered. And LIVING life! Sent me a single long-stem red rose for my birthday,” Oprah wrote at the time.
Tina has lived in Switzerland since 1995, leading a low-key with her husband Erwin.
