Thicke: EMA show is safe

Robin Thicke claims his EMAs show will be “inoffensive”.

The 36-year-old Blurred Lines singer will appear onstage this weekend at the MTV Europe Music Awards in Holland.

Robin reveals his performance is unlikely to stir up controversy like his twerk set with Miley Cyrus did at the VMAs in August.

“I’m sure it will be very safe and inoffensive,” he told MTV News.

Musicians like Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus and Iggy Azalea will grace the stage and Snoop Dogg is set to perform a new rendition of his classic hit Gin and Juice.

It was rumored Robin and Snoop may perform together, but the R&B singer remains tight-lipped about his onstage collaborator.

“[A collaboration is] in the works. [But] I don’t think I’d be able to give it away just yet,” Robin said.

This summer’s raucous VMA performance saw Miley twerk dancing with giant teddy bears while stripping down to a nude bikini, grinding against Robin and kissing him on the neck.

Robin previously told Oprah Winfrey he thought the whole situation was laughable.

“It was funny to me. It’s silly. I was walking out towards Miley, I’m not thinking sex. I’m thinking fun, you know?” he said.

“Just remember, I’m singing my butt off. So I’m sitting there, I’m looking up at the sky, and I’m singing. I’m not really paying attention to all that. That’s on her. People ask me, ‘Do you twerk,’ I go, ‘Listen, I’m the twerkee. I’m twerked upon. I don’t twerk myself.'”

The 2013 MTV Europe Music Awards will take place in Amsterdam on November 10.
