Miley Cyrus wants people to talk about her for “two weeks” rather than “two seconds”.
Following the 20-year-old in behind-the-scenes documentary Miley: The Movement, the film shows her being upfront about her recent behavior.
The star would rather be on people’s minds than fade into the background.
“You’re always going to make people talk. You might as well make them talk for two weeks, rather than two seconds,” she said.
With recent controversy surrounding the former Disney star, many people have spoken out about Miley.
A raunchy routine at the MTV VMAs and appearing naked for her Wrecking Ball music promo are just some of the things that have prompted stars like Cher and Brooke Shields to speak out.
“I was born to become who I am right now. I’m at a point in my career where I can be exactly what I want to be, who I want to be,” justified Miley.
Miley continued to explain that all she’s trying to do is shed off her Disney image.
The singer has come a long way from her days playing Hannah Montana, and wants to morph into someone new.
“I have this freedom to do whatever I want, because I’m starting as a new artist now. Every time I do anything, I want to remember: ‘This is what separates me from everybody else,’” she said.
She also sits and talks with Britney Spears in the documentary, just before her VMA performance.
Britney shocked at the 2003 VMAs when she shared a kiss with Madonna on stage during their set with Christina Aguilera.
