Alyssa Milano’s hit TV series could be preparing for a comeback.
The actresses starred in Charmed which is reportedly in the process of being freshened up for a new generation of television audiences.
A source tells E! News CBS TV Studios is planning to bring back the series, about a group of good witch relatives who use their powers to fight evil.
Charmed originally starred Alyssa alongside Holly Marie Combs and Shannen Doherty, who was later replaced by Rose McGowan.
CBS is said to have inked a script deal with Party of Five’s Chris Keyser and Sydney Sidner to create a fresh version of the show.
The network has not yet made a pilot, however, so there is still a chance it may not go ahead, according to the outlet.
Vulture previously reported the possibility of a reimagining of the popular series, which ran for eight seasons and 178 episodes until it was pulled off the air in 2006.
It’s unclear if the original cast would return to the reboot or if new actors would be sought out.
News of the comeback comes as shows such as American Horror Story: Coven, Witches of East End and The Originals cash in on the witch craze.
Aaron Spelling’s series is thought to have inspired those successful projects.
“I think really it’s due to the success of Charmed and the fact that it had so much success even after it was done, meaning that people looked for it, people searched it out and watched those episode over and over,” Alyssa recently told E! “The Charmed fans are the greatest fans on the planet and the most loyal fans on the planet. I feel like networks are trying to replicate that.”
