CeeLo Green plans to reunite Gnarls Barkley next year.
The soul duo topped charts with 2006 hit single Crazy but CeeLo soon broke off to reignite his solo career with 2010 studio album The Lady Killer and last year’s CeeLo’s Magic Moment.
After years apart, CeeLo says he’s now ready to make new music with DJ Danger Mouse.
Asked by a TMZ videographer at Los Angeles International Airport about the plans for a reunion, he affirmed: “Yeah, like next year.”
The duo’s last album was 2008 Grammy-winner The Odd Couple.
CeeLo has made promises about a reunion before.
In 2011, he told Us magazine fans could expect a follow-up soon, stating: “I would hope it would break more grounds. Knowing the nature of the space that we shared I am pretty sure it will be somewhat similar.”
TMZ speculates the band might actually make it happen this time. According to the outlet, it’s “highly possibly” it could happen at next year’s Coachella Valley Music Festival in Indio, California.
“Outkast pretty much confirmed they’re performing at Coachella next year… and CeeLo first met Gnarls DJ Danger Mouse while touring with Outkast in the 90′s,” the outlet writes, adding that “all four remain friendly”.

CeeLo Green may be ordered to drug education classes as part of a plea deal.
The singer pleaded not guilty to felony ecstasy possession last week, following allegations he had slipped the drug into a woman’s drink. If convicted he faces four years in prison, but it has been claimed his legal team is now working out a deal with prosecutors.
“If CeeLo decides to plead out, he will not face any jail time and the charge will be reduced to a misdemeanor,” an insider told RadarOnline.
“It would require him to attend drug education classes and narcotics anonymous meetings. It’s a deal that’s on the table. It’s likely the case will never go to trial.”
The woman originally accused the 38-year-old star of sexual assault, but there was insufficient evidence for the allegation to make it to court.
Last week CeeLo was in court where his bond was set at $30,000, which he paid. He was told to return to court on November 20 and he has apparently done all he can to abide by the legal process.
“From the outset, CeeLo has been very cooperative with the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office and he does not have a criminal record, which would help him in the event of any plea deal,” the source said.
CeeLo is accused of putting the illegal substance in the woman’s beverage while they were out for dinner in July last year. Afterwards they returned to her hotel room.

CeeLo Green is set to be cleared of sexual assault charges.
The singer was accused of slipping a drug into a woman’s drink over a year ago, but TMZ reports the case will be formally rejected today.
An unnamed female claimed she went to a Los Angeles sushi restaurant with CeeLo in late 2012, where he slipped ecstasy into her drink and she later woke up naked in his bed.
CeeLo vehemently denied the allegations and called for a full investigation into the allegations. It seems the case will now be dismissed due to insufficient evidence.
Investigators reportedly discovered issues with the woman’s story, as it appeared the pair had been dating and were intimate before the alleged incident.
While CeeLo – real name Thomas DeCarlo Callaway – looks likely to avoid sexual assault charges, TMZ reports the singer will be charged with one count of furnishing ecstasy. The website claims the 39-year-old star could even be arraigned this afternoon.
The woman previously claimed to have a tape recording of CeeLo discussing the incident, and while he seemingly didn’t say he had slipped ecstasy into her drink, he did make reference to the drug.
Apparently this conversation will be used as a confession by the Los Angeles District Attorney. However, there is no suggestion CeeLo had a criminal intent to harm the female when he is accused of sharing ecstasy with her.
The Voice US judge is likely to face probation as this is his first offence.
