Susan Sarandon is “ecstatic” about becoming a grandma for the first time.

The Thelma and Louise actress’ daughter Eva Amurri announced her pregnancy today.

And the 67-year-old couldn’t wait to share the happy news with her fans.

“Ecstatic bout the new addition to our tribe. Thx @4EvaMartino & @kylemartino. Looking forward to being a grandmother,” she tweeted along with a link to the announcement.

Eva, 28, is Susan’s eldest child from her relationship with Italian filmmaker Franco Amurri in the mid-1980s.

Susan also has two other children, sons Jack Henry and Miles Guthrie from her 21 year relationship with fellow actor Tim Robbins, which ended in 2009.

Eva has also moved into acting, having made appearances in TV shows including How I Met Your Mother and New Girl as well as her mother’s film The Banger Sisters.

She married former Major League Soccer player and current NBC Sports broadcaster Kyle Martino in October 2011 after becoming engaged in December 2010.

“We are so excited to announce that we are expecting our first child together,” the couple said in a statement to People magazine.

“Having a family has always been a priority for us both and we couldn’t be happier!”

As well as releasing the statement, Eva also took to Twitter to continue sharing the exciting news.

“Happy Valentines day to my heart, my hero, my BABYDADDY @kylemartino!!!!” she wrote.

“I love you so much.”

The couple’s little bundle of joy is set to arrive at the end of the summer.
