Hailee Steinfeld says Taylor Swift is like her “big sister”.
The True Grit star skyrocketed to fame at the age of 13 with her Oscar-nominated role in the Coen brothers’ drama.
Three years later, Hailee credits country music darling Taylor, who at 23 is seven years her senior, with helping her to navigate the muddy waters of Tinseltown.
Asked about the last concert she attended, the 16-year-old told America’s People magazine: “My friend Taylor Swift’s.”
The actress said the pair are as close to siblings as they could be. Hailee admits she often leans on the singer for advice.
“We connected a few years ago; she’s like a big sister to me. She’s the best listener. I feel like I can call or text her wherever she is in the world and she’ll always be there,” she said.
Despite her worldwide fame, Hailee admits she prefers low-key trips with the girls as opposed to glitzy red carpets.
She returned from a memorable vacation on America’s East Coast not long ago.
“I recently went to Rhode Island with a couple of girlfriends. We walked on the beach, listened to music, did arts and crafts and baked Rice Krispies treats. Just random and spontaneous things,” the star said of her favorite pastimes.
Hailee may not be able to go on holiday again anytime soon.
The budding star has five films in production through next year, according to IMDb.
She can next be seen in Gavin Hood helmed action adventure Ender’s Game, scheduled for release from next month.
