Gwen Stefani thinks being a coach on The Voice will be “incredible.”

The singer performed her 2004 hit Hollaback Girl on the American version of the talent show last night, ahead of taking up a seat in one of the famous red swivel chairs next season. It had been confirmed that the 44-year-old would be joining the show last week.

“What am I not excited about?” Gwen gushed to host Carson Daly. “Like two minutes ago I was giving birth and now I’m standing here in front of all these [people]. It’s incredible!”

The No Doubt front woman gave birth to her third son Apollo in February with husband Gavin Rossdale. The couple also have seven-year-old Kingston and five-year-old Zuma.

The singer performed the song with fellow new judge Pharrell Williams, who co-wrote the track. “Make some noise for the queen!” he declared at the end of the song.

The stars will join current judges Adam Levine and Blake Shelton and take over from Colombian popstar Shakira and fellow hit maker Usher.

Gwen confirmed her involvement with the show on April 30 after posting a photo of her hand holding a microphone with the “V” symbol for The Voice on her Instagram account.

“Its true! @nbcthevoice,” she captioned the image.

Fellow judge and singer Christina Aguilera made the announcement before NBC’s official press statement to the media. The singer confirmed the news on her Twitter account.

“So excited to have you join #TheVoice squad @GwenStefani,” Christina tweeted. “Welcome to our crazy fam! Kisses- xoxo #blondesdoitbest.”

The Sweet Escape singer’s contract is rumored to be for one season, with reports claiming Christina will return for season eight after giving birth to her second child with fiancé Matt Rutler.
