Snooki wanted “animals, games and prizes” to celebrate her son’s first birthday.
The Jersey Shore star spared no expense in making sure Lorenzo had a spectacular day on Saturday. She and fiancé Jionni LaValle invited just close friends and family to celebrate the big day with them in Poughkeepsie, New York.
And she wanted something her son and their guests would never forget.
“I chose the circus theme because I feel it fits best for throwing a huge first birthday bash – you can have animals, games and prizes!” Snooki tells People magazine.
Snooki, 25, ignored no details to make the day as perfect as possible. Traditional circus fare such as hamburgers and hot dogs were served, as well as a petting zoo with bunnies, goats, llamas and turtles. There were also ponies for the children to ride.
The event was very emotional for the reality star, who gave birth to Lorenzo on August 26 2012.
“I cry at every milestone he does and I’m definitely going to cry when we all sing ‘Happy Birthday’ to him,” Snooki admitted. “He’s my baby, my pride and joy, and I’m so proud of him turning one.”
Lorenzo’s cake was a delicious buttercream concoction in line with the circus theme. The two-tiered cake was covered in a circus tent and little edible circus animals.
Snooki and Jionni are proud of the fact their son already has a very sophisticated palate for a baby.
“Lorenzo loves everything!” Snooki says. “He eats meat, cake, fruit, ice cream – he loves it all.”
And she admits having a baby has transformed her life and priorities.
“My whole perception of life has changed ever since I had my son,” Snooki reveals. “I finally grew up into the woman my parents always knew I would be and I love it.”
