Snooki: Show was scripted

Snooki admits her reality TV show was scripted.

The petite star first came to prominence when she joined the cast of Jersey Shore, a TV show following the lives of a group of twenty-somethings in New Jersey.

She and her co-star Jenni Farley then starred in the show’s spin-off Snooki and JWOWW, but excerpts from her book Baby Bumps: From Party Girl To Proud Mama And All The Messy Milestones Along The Way reveal the show was not as realistic as it made out.

“You should have seen [MTV producers’] faces when I told them I was pregnant!” writes Snooki.

“They were like, ‘Get me re-write, ASAP!’ I felt for them. It would be hard to make the show fun. I had to give the producers credit for rolling with the punches.

Before getting pregnant Snooki, real name Nicole Polizzi, was known for her party girl antics and was often filmed getting drunk and falling over.

But the producers had to remove all scenes of drinking and partying and quickly think up new escapades which Snooki describes as “hilarious”.

“Since clubs and bars were out for filming, we had to come up with creative alternatives for funny scenes. Jenni and I filmed in a pet store, in a baby clothing store, at a psychic’s and at the doctor’s office. We managed to cobble together some hilarious and intense moments,” she continued.

Snooki is now mom to 17-month-old Lorenzo with her fiancé Jionni LaValle.

Jenni recently revealed she was expecting her first child with her partner Roger Mathews.

“Love you & so proud of you!! You’re gonna be such a good dad! (sic)” Snooki earlier tweeted to Roger.
