Silverman’s mom happy about Cowell baby

Lauren Silverman’s mother is “so happy” about having a grandchild on the way.

The mother of Simon Cowell’s pregnant girlfriend is currently visiting her socialite daughter in New York City.

Carole Salande is thrilled she gets to be a part of the baby preparations while Simon works on The X Factor USA in Los Angeles.

“We’re all excited and we’re all doing well,” the matriarch told E! News. “I’m just happy to be up here spending time with everyone.”

Carole is celebrating the Jewish New Year with her pregnant daughter, who recently settled her divorce from Simon’s former pal, businessman Andrew Silverman.

The former couple, who share a seven-year-old son named Adam, parted ways after it emerged she had an affair with Simon.

Carole confessed it made her “very happy, absolutely” to see the music mogul defending her daughter in the press, although she’s glad the media circus surrounding the scandal has subsided.

“I’m so happy things have calmed down,” she said.

Appearing on Ellen DeGeneres’ talk show earlier this week, Simon admitted he expected the situation to be “a bit of a nightmare,” after the announcement.

“Because everyone knows, it was well documented, it was kind of uncomfortable. You know, the situation,” he explained. “But these things happen and everything is kind of calm now and I’m happy. I’m actually happier than I’ve ever been.

“I can’t blame the media because they’ve got a juicy story but there was a lot of stuff said about her, that she trapped me and that she’s a gold digger. Absolute nonsense. She’s a great girl, but it was awkward because of the circumstances.”
