Sharon Osbourne is thought to have donated $16,000 to a young father fighting terminal cancer.
After Ryan Glenny, known by his middle name of Felix, was diagnosed with bowel cancer his best friend Ashley Clark set up an online fundraising page which has seen donations flood in.
The Osbourne matriarch survived colon cancer more than a decade ago, and has apparently told Ryan to “never give up the fight”.
A contribution of $16,000 is reported to have been made by 61-year-old Sharon. Ashley informed well-wishers of this generous donation by posting a message on the fundraising page.
“Mrs Sharon Osbourne wanted to donate $16,000 to Felix and family and this is the note she wanted: Dear Felix, From a survivor, never give up the fight and hope. God Bless you and your family. Love, Sharon Osbourne,” the post read.
Ryan’s story has risen to prominence after it was revealed he had married the mother of his young children in hospital after his diagnosis.
He underwent chemotherapy, but when he was told he had only a matter of months left to live he and girlfriend Cola Wella decided to wed at the Medway Maritime Hospital in Gillingham, Kent, on Friday.
Sharon took to her Twitter account on Saturday to urge her two million followers to read Ryan’s story and help if they could.
His online gofundme page has now raised over $60,500 for father of-two Ryan and his family.
