Shailene Woodley: Love’s not forever

Shailene Woodley

Shailene Woodley doesn’t believe in The One.

The 22-year-old actress has made a name for herself in films such as The Descendants and Divergent and is gearing up to play cancer sufferer Hazel Grace Lancaster in The Fault in Our Stars.

Based on the novel of the same name by John Green, it tells the romantic story of two ill teenagers who fall in love.

Shailene herself is yet to meet someone she can imagine having a long-term relationship with.

“I just haven’t met anyone where I was like, ‘Wow, I could definitely see myself spending a season of my life with you,'” she candidly revealed to the US edition of Marie Claire. “I don’t even know if humans are genetically made to be with one person forever.”

Speaking to Teen Vogue recently, the pretty star admitted she “might have” hooked up with a co-star before, but wouldn’t say who it was.

The star doesn’t feel like she has time for a boyfriend and has never been particularly interested in dating.

“I was the latest bloomer there ever was. I was still playing with Barbies at 14 and didn’t have my first kiss until 15 and a half. He had big, beautiful lips, and I was like, ‘I don’t know what I’m going to do with those,'” she laughed.

In The Descendants, Shailene starred alongside 52-year-old George Clooney, who played her father.

The actor is known for thinking little of social networking and his attitude seems to have rubbed off on Shailene.

“The whole social media thing is just a little too weird for me,” she shrugged.

“We’re all such narcissists, and that’s what social media caters to. Our society conditions us to be our own planets, which is great. Independent thinking is so important. But we expect everyone around us to be our moons.”

Of George she added: “My mom and George are probably the only two people I’ve ever met who are truly genuine.”
