Schwarzenegger: I’m the Boss

Arnold Schwarzenegger

Arnold Schwarzenegger is still the “Boss” on set.

The 66-year-old actor continues to make action movies, such as Sabotage, in which he takes the lead as John ‘Breacher’ Wharton. When asked if he could keep up with the film’s younger stars Sam Worthington and Joe Manganiello, Arnold was adamant that he could.

“I can still do the same stuff and feel the same way I did 20 years ago,” he boasted to British newspaper The Metro. “But if you get sore and tired, your body doesn’t come back as quickly as when you were 30 years old, so that’s really the difference. I was kind of the father figure and they all called me ‘Boss’.”

Arnold won many fans as The Terminator in 1984 and has continued in the franchise, with

Terminator: Genesis due for release in 2015. The star thinks he knows why he’s still enjoying such success in Hollywood.

“Obviously they must think that I am believable on screen. They must feel: ‘Ok, Arnold can still draw the crowd, he is still believable, he is still in shape, even though by the time we shoot this, he is going to be 68,'” he mused.

“It has been very unusual. I don’t think ever in the history of the movie business has there been a situation where a studio asks you back at this age for those kinds of big movies. Films like James Bond and Batman are always looking for the new young guy.”

Arnold added that these days he does like to take the odd nap when he has time, but that he would never go for a quick lie down on set.

Sabotage also stars Josh Holloway and Terrence Howard and tells the story of members of an elite DEA task force at war after robbing a drug cartel safe house.
