Emmy Rossum says her TV show delivers “more action” than football.
The 27-year-old actress is famed for her role as Fiona Gallagher in Showtime dramedy Shameless, about a family of six siblings struggling to cope with their alcoholic father.
The network hit a snag on Sunday when an episode conflicted with one of the final games of the season, between the San Francisco 49ers and the Seattle Seahawks.
But Emmy was urging sports fans to ignore the championship game, insisting they’d be more entertained by her antics on the small screen than by professional athletes.
“So the #49ersvsSeahawks game is on & you can’t watch #Shameless?? Bummer. I guarantee we deliver more action & fewer ads. cc @SHO_Shameless,” she tweeted.
Emmy continued tweeting throughout the game. She gave fans a behind-the-scenes look into some of her most action-packed moments.
“I was so scared I was going to run over this stunt guy after he rolls off the windshield. #shameless,” the actress wrote of one scene featuring her behind the wheel.
She also revealed shooting TV is not always as glamorous as it may look.
“That car Fiona was driving was filthy,” she mused.
“No joke, we found a used band aid and some sort of brown smear on the fabric seats. #eew #shameless.”
