Rossum recalls ‘bloody rescue’

Emmy Rossum

Emmy Rossum feels “lucky to be alive”.

The 27-year-old Beautiful Creatures actress recently rescued a hit-and-run victim.

And the star revealed the gory experience made her realize how precious life is.

“Last weekend, I was pulling out of my house, and I saw a body in the road and blood everywhere. This guy had been hit by a car,” she recounted in an interview with Esquire magazine.

“I called 911 and stayed with him. You see how lucky you are to be alive. All the Hollywood bullsh*t and accolades and money really doesn’t matter. It just gives you a slightly nicer house and slightly nicer food and slightly shinier hair.”

Emmy is also deeply grateful for her dog Cinnamon, despite the animal’s origin.

The star confesses she wasn’t thrilled at the first thought of becoming a pet owner.

“[Cinnamon] was a present. I wanted a Rhodesian ridgeback. But I had a really sh*tty boyfriend who gave him to me,” Emmy recalled.

“And, of course, when a really cute dog shows up on your doorstep, you can’t be like, Yeah, no. You’re like, Oh, yay, puppy! Also: Never get your girlfriend a pet that she didn’t know she was getting.”

Although the thespian is currently single at this time, she is deeply involved with the modern dating scene.

Emmy finds it fascinating that many of her friends are seeking companionship over the internet.

“A friend of mine is in a long-distance relationship. They have dates on Skype. They’ll both watch the same movie and. play,” she mused.
