Prince William ‘plans family vacation’

Britain’s Prince William is planning to take his wife and son on a secluded vacation later this year.

The Duke of Cambridge and his wife Catherine Middleton welcomed their first child into the world last month. The couple and Prince George Alexander Louis went to stay with Catherine’s parents Carole and Michael Middleton shortly after she left the hospital, with William taking two weeks paternity leave.

Once that is up he will go back to his search and rescue pilot post in Wales, before moving to a post in the Household Cavalry in London in September.

“It was his idea that she move in with her parents while he finishes up work in Wales. He’s then planning to whisk Kate and the baby away to a secluded lakeside villa, which a friend owns in Switzerland, so they can wind down after the craziness surrounding the pregnancy and birth,” an insider told British magazine Closer.

Catherine’s family have gathered around her to help her settle into motherhood. Deciding to care for George at her parents’ home rather than at a royal residence breaks normal protocol, but she is apparently adamant her son should not be too privileged.

“At the moment Carole is making sure all Kate has to do is sleep and bond with her baby boy. Pippa [Catherine’s sister] has also agreed to help out. And when he’s back at work, William will fly to Berkshire by helicopter in between shifts – he doesn’t want to miss a thing,” the source explained.

The royal couple apparently know it’s not ideal to be apart at the moment, but William has made his wife realise that she and their baby are his number one priority.

“It’ll be tough being apart, but William’s doing everything he can to make sure Kate and the baby are as happy as possible. Kate’s very emotional at the moment. It’s been quite an overwhelming time for her. But William has risen to the challenge wonderfully. He’s being very tender and caring,” the source explained.
