Lamar Odom has reportedly been charged with one count of driving under the influence.
The 33-year-old spouse of Khloé Kardashian is expected to have his driver’s license suspended for one year, stemming from an incident on August 30.
The professional basketball star reportedly failed field sobriety tests after he was pulled over for driving too slowly on California’s 101 Freeway and refused to undergo a blood alcohol examination, according to TMZ.
The decision reportedly saved the athlete from being charged with a second count of DUI if he was found to have a blood alcohol level of 0.8 or higher.
Lamar is due back in court on September 27 to argue his case.
Sources say he is likely to get probation if found guilty.
As he is a first-time offender, he may also be asked to complete an alcohol education course.
Lamar meanwhile is thought to have checked into outpatient rehab this week.
Reports have claimed he has a problem with crack cocaine and prescription medications Oxycontin and Ambien.
According to Radar Online, Lamar is also seeing a drug counselor but allegedly failed to turn up for an appointment on Tuesday.
“Lamar had been scheduled to meet with a counselor on Tuesday, but blew off the meeting,” a source claimed. “Sadly, it doesn’t appear that Lamar is on track to getting healthy.”
A spokesperson for the star has not commented on allegations of Lamar’s drug abuse.
