Lamar Odom has reportedly returned to the US less than a month after joining a Spanish basketball team.
The athlete moved to Spain to play for the Baskonia (a.k.a. Laboral Kutxa), but apparently suffered injuries and had to leave.
Lamar, 34, is said to have flown back on March 10 and it is not yet known if he will even return to Spain.
“He will visit his doctors in New York who have treated him throughout his career in the States, to check with the medical tests and receive a second opinion about his back injury,” a rep for the team told Us Weekly.
“If Lamar told me he would return, I’m not going to have the feeling he won’t,” added team manager and coach Sergio Scariolo.
Another source tells the outlet that Lamar’s possible return to Spain will depend entirely on his physical condition, but admits it doesn’t look good.
“He packed everything, so it’s not looking good,” the insider said. “He’s played very few games and didn’t make much impact in those he did play.”
Lamar has reportedly had just 22 minutes of playing time in two games since making his debut against Unicaja Malaga on Feb. 27, but before that had been on an extended break.
Lamar is currently going through a divorce with his wife of four years Khloé Kardashian.
Both Khloé and her mother Kris Jenner have apparently reached out to the athlete and offered their support since his return to the U.S.
“They are talking,” the source said. “It is amicable. Khloé and Kris both said they are here for him if he needs anything.”
