Murphy welcomes back Glee stars

Ryan Murphy is amping up the star power for Glee’s final season.

The creator of the hit TV musical starring Lea Michele has seen a host of A-listers join its ranks, including Gwyneth Paltrow, Kate Hudson, Neil Patrick Harris, Sarah Jessica Parker and Idina Menzel, to name a few.

And Ryan hinted fans may see more celebrities than ever singing and dancing during the show’s sixth and final season next year, as he invites anyone who’s been involved to return, including old series regulars.

“My feeling about the last season of Glee is very clear, and that is that we will be reaching out to all of the regulars on the show, that original group of Glee club members and the teachers, and anybody who wants to come back can come back. Anybody who wants to be a part of the show, we welcome them,” he said at the 2014 Summer TCA Press Tour on Sunday.

The announcement follows tragedy for the hit show, whose cast and crew have been grieving after star Cory Monteith suffered a fatal overdose in July 2013 at the age of 31.

An entire episode has already been dedicated to his character, Finn Murphy, and Fox Chairman and CEO Peter Rice promises next season will be one to remember.

“I think Glee is one of the great shows in television history… it was so hot and so big,” he said.

“It touched so many hearts and it brought social issues to floor and it burned so hot and so fast. We want to go out in way that celebrates it.”
