Mischa Barton thinks a The O.C. reunion “doesn’t feel right”.

The actress shot to mainstream stardom with the TV show, which was targeted at a teenage audience.

She portrayed Marissa Cooper before her character died in season three and this year marks the ten-year anniversary of its debut.

“You know – never say never,” she told Us Weekly. “But, I think things have to feel right [for a reunion] and it doesn’t feel right.”

Mischa believes she missed out on some career opportunities by appearing on television screens between the years of 2003 and 2006.

There is a chance the thespian’s talent may be overshadowed if she draws fan’s attention back to her past.

“You can’t say that you feel one way or another about things,” she continued. “But before The O.C. I was on track to do some great films, as well, and one thing happens and then I got this mega stardom all from this show. It is what it is, but I’m not looking to get sucked back into the limelight of it.”

During her appearance on the program, Mischa’s co-stars included Benjamin McKenzie, Adam Brody and Rachel Bilson.

Now she isn’t close with her former work pals because she chooses to steer clear of Hollywood most of the time.

“I don’t,” she admitted about staying in touch with her former colleagues. “I mean, I run into people every once in a while, but I’m doing my own thing. I work a lot, so I feel like I’m never around in L.A. and I know that Ben and Rachel work on shows here.”

While Mischa is grateful for the opportunities the show opened up for her, she has since branched out into a fashion career.

The accessories designer hopes this year’s soap-related festivities won’t outshine her current work ventures.

“I was like, ‘I hope everyone doesn’t start watching it again!'” she exclaimed.
