Miranda Kerr says running lines with Orlando Bloom would be like her teaching him to catwalk.
The Australian model is married to the British actor and has an enormous amount of respect for his job. He is currently starring in Romeo & Juliet on Broadway and Miranda was overcome with emotion when she watched the play.
“When I saw Orlando on Broadway in Romeo & Juliet, I was blown away. For someone to be able to learn all that and hold the energy to do it every day, six days a week – I have so much respect for him,” she told Cosmopolitan magazine. “We don’t run lines though. We keep that very separate. That would be like me asking him to teach me how to catwalk.”
The couple are parents to two-year-old son Flynn and the 30-year-old model thinks their relationship works because they have set roles within their marriage.
While Miranda enjoys being completely in control at work, when she’s at home she is happy to be more relaxed.
“Don’t feel like you have to do and be everything,” she advised. “Let the man do some things for you, because if he cares for you, he will want to. When I get home, I’m not the boss like I am at work – I slip into a more feminine role. I take everything off and put on my Stella McCartney silk robe. I’ll put on a red lip or red nails, and it lifts my mood. Sexy underwear also gives you a spark. I collect underwear from my travels. Lace, lingerie, body suits… they’re like souvenirs.”
Miranda is constantly amazed by how insecure some models are, mostly because they are constantly judged on their looks. She has learnt to love herself and doesn’t listen to criticism, preferring to focus on the positive. Spending time with her son also helps her, even if he is a little confused about his parents’ jobs.
“Flynn says Mommy works and Daddy plays, because Daddy is in a play… so that makes sense,” she giggled.
