Michelle Williams is reportedly hoping to get engaged this summer.
The 33-year-old actress began dating 38-year-old artist Dustin Yellin last year but apparently already knows their romance will last the distance. Michelle is so adamant they are meant to be together she apparently expects them to take the next step in their relationship before too long.
“Michelle has been hinting at a summer engagement to Dustin,” an insider told RadarOnline.com. “This is a very promising romance and Michelle’s not been this happy in nearly ten years. She has her man and a New York lifestyle – what could be better.”
Apparently finding someone who enjoyed the same way of life as her was of paramount importance to Michelle. She is happily settled in New York City and can only see herself raising her eight-year-old daughter Matilda in the city. Matilda’s father is late actor Heath Ledger.
“Dustin and Michelle are in perfect sync when it comes to their relationship and she loves that he, like her, can’t stand Los Angeles,” the insider explained.
Over the years Michelle has dated Spike Jonze and Jason Segel in the past, who both needed to be in Los Angeles for work. It’s claimed that posed a problem for the actress, as she prefers the anonymity the East Coast allows her and her child.
Michelle has been open about putting Matilda first many times, explaining she views looking after her daughter as her main job during an interview last year.
“Raising the kid is the work, yeah. And it’s amazing, and it’s the ultimate creative act. That’s my side project and my center project,” she told Paper magazine.
“I wish I had side projects! I’m kind of like a ‘one thing at a time’ girl. I can’t really take on [more]. I wish I was one of those people who’s also taking lots of photos and going to cooking classes. But I just work and raise the kid. That’s all I can do.”
