Austin Mahone has been hospitalized.
The YouTube star-turned-pop sensation was feeling ill for a few days and on Thursday morning checked into a facility for emergency treatment, according to People magazine.
The extent of his illness remains unclear.
“Mahone was rushed to the hospital at 9 a.m. Thursday morning,” a source purportedly close to the singer said.
“It’s unclear what the singer’s condition is at this time,” the insider continued.
Austin, 17, appeared to confirm the report in a photo posted to his Instagram account Thursday.
He appeared in a hospital robe, looking exhausted as he held onto an intravenous drip.
“I’ve never felt so bad,” he captioned the image.
A source meanwhile tells People Austin’s upcoming headlining tour may have been canceled as a result of his health scare.
The trek was scheduled to kick off Thursday.
“[The tour] may have to be rescheduled for early 2014,” the source said.
A spokesperson for the star has yet to confirm the report.
Austin skyrocketed to fame in 2011 after he was selected to open for Taylor Swift on the country music darling’s Red concert tour.
Earlier this year he was named one of MTV’s Artists To Watch.
The Say Somethin singer’s debut album is set for release in December.
