Demi Lovato is asking fans to share their struggles with addiction.
The 21-year-old singer and X Factor mentor was admitted to rehab in 2010 to overcome battles with bulimia and self-harming.
She’s now about to launch her new book Staying Strong 365 Days of the Year, a collection of quotes and daily goals she hopes will help others like they helped her.
“March 15 will always be an important day to me – it’s the anniversary of the day I began my recovery. As I share a part of my life with you, I want to hear your stories, too. Comment below using #StayingStrong365 and tell me what helps you get through the hard days,” Demi posted on her Facebook page.
Under the text, she added a picture of the March 15 page of the book, entitled Serenity Prayer.
The post has received tens of thousands of likes, shares and responses, with Demi’s fans flocking to support the star.
“The question a lot of people have for me is ‘How do you continue to stay strong?’ Over the past few years, I’ve done this thing – a morning meditation basically, where I read out of a book and it’s a quote, a passage and then a goal for the day.
“So basically what I wanted to do was do that for my fans. It’s really cool. There [are] quotes in there all the way from Einstein and Aristotle, to Nicki Minaj and Tupac [Shakur]. It’s crazy,” she told Good Morning America earlier today.
Staying Strong 365 Days of the Year will hit shelves on Tuesday.
