Lindsay Lohan is reportedly “very happy” with her rumored new boyfriend.
The 27-year-old actress was recently romantically linked to former football star Matt Nordgren, a longtime friend.
While Matt has skirted confirming whether or not they’re a couple, a purported friend of the former Mean Girls star says she’s doing well since completing her court-ordered stint in rehab in late July and the athlete has been a pillar of support.
“She is very happy and very committed to staying sober,” the insider told People magazine.
“He drinks but not irresponsibly and not in front of her. He is close to her whole family.”
Matt recently opened up about his longtime friendship with Lindsay.
The 30-year-old former Philadelphia Eagles player and reality television star said the actress is focused on bettering her health and isn’t looking back.
“We’ve hung out. But I have been a friend trying to support her for many years now,” he recently told the New York Post’s Page Six gossip column.
“She’s completely sober now. She’s in a great place and working hard and meeting with all the right people.”
Lindsay was sentenced earlier this year to a 90-day spell in rehab for reckless driving and lying to police investigating her June 2012 car crash in Santa Monica, California.
She had been in rehab several times prior to deal with substance abuse issues.
Matt has previously been linked to American reality stars including The Hills’ Audrina Patridge and The Bachelorette’s Vienna Giardi.
Lindsay has yet to comment on reports of their romantic relationship.
