Liam Hemsworth had a “decidedly tame” birthday party last week.
The actor turned 24 on January 13, and celebrated over the weekend in New York.
Unlike his ex-fiancee Miley Cyrus who had a big birthday bash at Beacher’s Madhouse in November, Liam seemed to prefer a quiet night instead.
The Australian star celebrated on the roof of the trendy Hotel Chantelle, in New York’s Lower East Side.
“He was supposed to come in for dinner at 8:30 but ended up arriving around 10:30 for bottle service and dessert,” a source told E! News.
Liam apparently came with 15 friends and ordered the red velvet molten lava cake for them all to share. The group also ordered bottles of Grey Goose and Veuve Clicquot throughout the night, finally leaving at 3am.
The Hunger Games star has spoken out about how much happier he has been recently. According to Liam, he feels more calm and at peace with the world.
“These days I feel like I’m more centered and grounded than I’ve ever been,” he said. “I’ve learned so much… The first few years in L.A. were really tough and scary, but I had to figure things out for myself.”
Liam also spoke about the aftermath of his breakup with Miley. Despite all the rumours about what happened to their relationship, the actor says he didn’t let it affect him.
“What I always keep in mind is that I know what the truth is and that’s all that matters. I know I’m a good person,” he added.
