John Legend is “more nervous” about his new album than his wedding.
The singer has been engaged to model Chrissy Teigen since 2011 and they will tie the knot in Lake Como this month. John has also been busy working on material for his next release, Love in the Future. He admits the prospect of exchanging vows is far less daunting than the public hearing his latest tunes.
“People keep asking me if I am nervous about getting married, but I am a little more nervous about my album coming out,” he is quoted as saying by New York Post as he showcased new songs in front of an intimate crowd in New York City. “But yeah, I guess you’re supposed to get nervous before you get married, but I feel good.”
Love in the Future is released worldwide from this week. John is known for his ballads and romantic lyrics, but revealed Chrissy was left blushing after playing one new track to her parents.
“She got a little embarrassed. The second line is ‘We couldn’t wait, we did it in the living room,’” he laughed.
John and Chrissy have hired a wedding planner to arrange their big day, and the singer recently revealed a few details about the nuptials
“The wedding won’t be small but not too large, it’s mostly family. I just have a big family. Am I playing? I’ll probably do a song or two. Do I take requests? No, I’m not into wedding bands,” John smiled.
The musician has also hinted he will perform All Of Me for Chrissy on their special day, a song he wrote for her which appears on his new album.
