Keira Knightley has vowed never to do musical theater.
The 28-year-old actress stars in new flick Can A Song Save Your Life?, which had its debut screening at the Toronto International Film Festival on Monday.
When asked if she would consider expanding on her singing experience from the motion picture and taking it to the Broadway stage, she had a firm answer.
“No, absolutely not,” she told E! News. “It’s amazing when you can say something that equivocally.”
Keira also insisted she is done with performing songs on the silver screen.
“No, no, no, that was my one and only,” she stated. “Come and see this film, that’ll be it.”
The British beauty didn’t have long to improve her singing voice for Can A Song Save Your Life?
Appearing with Maroon 5’s Adam Levine in the John Carney-helmed motion picture, she wasn’t comfortable performing tunes.
“I literally was given the songs for this about a week before we started shooting,” she revealed.
“We had to go straight into the studio, and I had never sung before and I had to just kind of try and figure it out. So that’s what I did. I’m not going to do it again, that was it.”
Keira married her The Klaxons keyboardist partner James Righton earlier this year but her husband wasn’t the most supportive about her trying out his profession.
“I think he just laughed a lot really,” she recalled about her spouse’s attitude to her rehearsals. “You know, saying, ‘Oh yeah, good luck.’”
