Kim Kardashian and Kanye West will reportedly have a “very short” engagement.
The couple got engaged on Monday, which was Kim’s 33rd birthday. Kanye made sure her special day went with a bang by hiring a baseball stadium to propose in, as well as organizing fireworks and a 50-piece orchestra to mark the occasion.
Kim and Kanye have been together for 18 months but knew each other as friends long before that. Now they have four-month-old daughter North together, they apparently see no reason to wait for a trip down the aisle.
“Kim Kardashian and Kanye West will not have a long engagement… the engagement will be very short and the wedding will happen quickly,” reports TMZ.
Kim has been wed twice before, with her union with basketball star Kris Humphries lasting just 72 days. It was thought she was unsure about having a lavish day this time around, as she was heavily criticised when her marriage to Kris failed after their $10 million wedding.
However, it’s now being claimed she and her hip-hop star fiancé want a “blow out” affair. The news comes after RadarOnline suggested the pair may hold multiple ceremonies and parties to celebrate their union.
Kanye asked Kim’s mother Kris Jenner for her permission before proposing, and the moment he got down on bended knee has been caught on camera. The footage was posted online, which is said to have irritated the happy couple as they wanted to keep the intricacies of the moment private.
Kim’s family and friends emerged from the dugouts after she accepted Kanye’s proposal, although her stepfather Bruce Jenner was not there. He is separated from Kris and has occasionally expressed concern that Kim jumped into a relationship with Kanye too quickly.
However, Kim’s first phone call after the event was too Bruce according to TMZ, as the pair are so close. It is unknown whether he will walk Kim down the aisle, with sources claiming Kris wants her son and Kim’s brother Rob to do the honors.
