Kim Kardashian has admitted her pregnancy was worse than what people got to see.
The 33-year-old TV star opened up about how hard carrying her first baby was, despite it not being shown that way on her reality show.
Fans of Keeping Up with the Kardashians didn’t get to see the full extent of what Kim was going through when she was pregnant with first child North West, her daughter with fiancé Kanye West.
“Pregnancy for me was a lot tougher than people saw on my show or from magazines,” she admitted to People magazine.
“So to get back to feeling like myself just makes me feel good again. It’s all about feeling your best.”
People reported that Kim has lost 43 of the 50lbs she gained while pregnant with North, and credits the Atkins diet for helping her shed the weight.
The Atkins is a low-carbohydrate diet promoted by Robert Atkins, which involves eating protein-rich foods, and encourages dieters not to be a slave to counting calories. She also teamed this with boot camp workouts.
“Losing this weight has not been easy, but I did it, and that’s so rewarding. I was dedicated and motivated, and for me, that paid off. This makes me feel like I have the strength to take on other challenges.
“Every day I would hear people criticize me, and it would affect me. Little by little it would chip away at my soul. I wanted to tune out the media and my public life and ignore it all,” she revealed, in reference to cruel jibes made about her weight.
