Khloé ‘hoped baby could save Lamar’

Khloé Kardashian reportedly hoped having a baby would help get her husband’s life back on track.

The reality TV star has been hitting the headlines recently following allegations that her spouse Lamar Odom is addicted to crack cocaine and prescription medication. The couple have also been the subject of infidelity speculation, after it was claimed Lamar had several affairs.

It has now been claimed that Khloé was actively trying to get pregnant until very recently, as she thought it could save her marriage.

“[Khloé] truly believed that if she got pregnant, it would cause Lamar to change his ways,” a source told RadarOnline.com. “Khloé thought having a baby together would bring them closer together as a couple. It was all she ever wanted, to have Lamar’s baby and have their own family.”

Khloé has openly discussed her struggle to get pregnant and previously took hormone shots in a bid to boost her fertility. She has made no secret of her desire to become a mom, with the pair apparently trying to conceive since they wed in September 2009.

“I definitely want to have kids,” she said earlier this year. “If it’s meant to be, it’s meant to be. I’m at peace with whatever the plan is.”

Although the 29-year-old brunette wants a family, she has realized this isn’t the right time to bring a baby into the world.

“Khloé now recognizes that bringing a baby into this relationship at this time would have been a disaster, and unfair to an innocent child,” the source added.

It has been reported that Lamar believes he can kick his habit without going to rehab. The basketball player has apparently told friends he can get clean using sheer willpower.

Yesterday it was alleged Khloé told Lamar she was planning to file for divorce last week.

The star has taken to her Twitter account, urging her followers to stay strong and ignore haters.

“Promise me u’ll always remember: u’re braver than u believe. I am brave because of u. The love u gave made me brave. All we need is love#KKO,” she wrote.

“Keep away from people who try to belittle your ambitions. Never allow anyone to take YOUR spirit away from you. Misery loves company. (sic)”
