Khloé and Kourtney Kardashian will reportedly stay in the Hamptons rent-free.
The reality TV stars will set up a temporary pop-up clothing boutique in the swanky Southampton area of New York as part of their new show Kourtney & Khloe Take the Hamptons.
It’s now being reported that the wealthy sisters weren’t happy with the sky-high let prices usual for the region. So landlord Irma Herzog is thought to have offered them a 600-foot gallery space opposite her restaurant in a bid to attract customers to the eatery.
“They didn’t want to pay the $30,000 to $60,000 rent charged at most Hamptons stores,” an insider explained to New York Daily News’ Confidenti@l column. “So they agreed to shoot episodes of the show in the restaurant.”
A source also revealed that middle sister Kim, 33, will visit them during filming. Khloé, 29, and 35-year-old Kourtney are thought to head to the area on June 2, with Kim joining shortly after.
The news that the siblings will be granted a rent-free stay could come as an unpleasant surprise for some residents in the Hamptons.
TMZ recently reported that many who live in the surroundings are worried about the show bringing “negative exposure” and that they fear paparazzi will “swarm” them.
“People will either decide to avoid the Kardashian store completely, which could affect the surrounding stores,” a statement from Hamptons.com reasoned, “or on the flip side you could have the place so completely and utterly mobbed that hopefully the businesses around it will benefit from the overflow.”
