Kendrick Lamar wants to get back to Kanye West’s Yeezus tour as soon as possible.
The tour has been blighted with damaged equipment and problems with production logistics, which has meant postponing shows in a number of North American cities.
Vancouver, Denver, Minneapolis, Anaheim and Chicago have all had their shows canceled until vital equipment is repaired following a road accident, and Kanye is not willing to compromise on the show’s sets a Def Jam statement said.
“I was looking forward to them cities man. Now we gotta wait and sit back but I’ll go in the studio and put that energy into the booth. But I definitely was looking forward to them cities. Hopefully, we get back on as soon as possible,” Kendrick told MTV News.
“It’s a great experience, man and I’m happy, I’m excited. It’s a blessing for sure.”
Def Jam also told ticket holders that further news on affected tour dates will be announced shortly.
The production problems haven’t tainted Kendrick’s opinion on Kanye, with the 26-year-old hip-hop star admitting he remains a huge fan.
“First off, just being a fan of his work and actually going on tour with him, that’s just a whole ‘nother world,” he mused.
“Second, watching him perform and seeing how much he put into his presence onstage, it just reassures me that coming out the booth, you gotta take just as much attention on that stage, and put work in on that.”
