Kendall and Kylie Jenner “had to grow up fast” due to being in the public eye.
The younger half-sisters of Kim, Khloé, Kourtney and Rob Kardashian admit they didn’t have the chance to enjoy a lengthy childhood due to the family’s popular reality television show, Keeping Up with the Kardashians.
They also didn’t have a choice after being born to gold Olympic medal-winning dad Bruce Jenner and their celebrity manager mother Kris Jenner.
“I think we’re doing it right for the situation we’ve been put in,” 15-year-old Kylie told Scott and Todd on 95.5 PLJ Radio in New York City. “We’ve had to grow up fast just being in the public eye you kind of have to grow up fast.”
Kendal, 17, pointed out that being surrounded by a brother in his late 20s and sisters in their 30s makes them naturally behave more grown-up than the average people their ages.
The model doesn’t think their situation is entirely bad though.
“I’m going to be 18 in four months,” she pointed out during the interview, which will air in the US on Tuesday.
“I’m growing up and so is my little sister. We may be growing up a little faster than other people but we have [had] older sisters our entire lives who are [now] in their 30s,” she explained.
The Keeping Up With the Kardashians stars believe they have been guided well in terms of dealing with their celebrity.
Having cameras around them much of the time means they must be more mindful of their actions but they still have the opportunity to enjoy being young.
“We are a little more mature than someone our age but I don’t think we’re growing up too fast in any way,” Kendall shared.
