Kelly Osbourne says it “wasn’t the right time” for her to marry.
The 29-year-old Fashion Police host announced on Wednesday that she and vegan chef Matthew Mosshart decided to end their engagement.
And Kelly has spoken out for the first time about why the former lovebirds decided to call it quits.
“It was a mutual decision,” she told E!.
“We love each other very much. It just wasn’t the right time for us and I think if we weren’t as mature and adult as we are, then we could have gone down a road that wasn’t really nice.”
Kelly insists she still maintain a strong friendship with Matthew.
The star claims there was no major dispute that led to the breakup.
“We’re still really, really good friends. It’s just that we’re not living in the same house,” she explained.
“There’s no dramatic story. I wish there was so I had something to tell people, but no … It just happens in life.”
Kelly’s mother Sharon has also shared her sentiments on the split.
And the matriarch believes her daughter will definitely enjoy a hot new romance in the future.
“Let the auditions begin!” the 61-year-old host joked on Thursday’s episode of daytime TV show The Talk.
Kelly and Matthew enjoyed the marriage proposal while vacationing in the Caribbean last summer.
The former couple met in 2011 at model Kate Moss’ July 1 wedding to The Kills rocker Jamie Hince.
