Keira Knightley has joked that she’s become a diva.
The actress stars alongside Mark Ruffalo in Begin Again, which tells the tale of a wannabe singer trying to make it in New York.
In real life, Keira has long made it. However, she’s managed to keep a down-to-earth attitude, which has won her many fans. The star jokes there’s a different side to her just waiting to come out on the red carpet.
“Oh yeah, look, I’m wearing a Valentino dress – you can’t get more diva than that!” she laughed to British TV show Lorraine at the premiere of the film in the Big Apple yesterday.
Begin Again also stars Adam Levine, marking the Maroon 5 lead singer’s first foray onto the big screen. His 29-year-old co-star says he didn’t need any help on set.
“He’s a complete natural and a lovely, lovely man,” Keira gushed. “He just turned up and did his thing. He kept saying, ‘Oh, I don’t know what I’m doing.’ And I just said, ‘You’re fine, don’t worry about it!'”
UK actor James Corden also makes an appearance in the comedy drama. He comes from humble beginnings, originally appearing on small-screen British projects such as funny TV series Gavin & Stacey.
“I don’t know that that’s true,” he blushed when told he’s making it in Hollywood.
“I’m from High Wycombe… Sometimes it’s a little too much for me to take in.”
Begin Again hits US cinemas tomorrow and will roll out to the UK on July 11.
