Jonah Hill’s dad looks after his money.
His part in Martin Scorsese’s The Wolf of Wall Street may require him to spend millions of dollars and literally throw money away, but in real life Jonah manages to save money really easily.
“When I’m working I get clothes from the production, I get breakfast, lunch and most of the time even dinner,” he said to German magazine Neon.
“After work I don’t get the chance to spend money because I try to sleep as much as possible. This way you can save a lot of money!” he added.
The 30-year-old is a household Hollywood name now thanks to roles in Moneyball and Superbad.
But he confessed to the magazine that he still relies on his parents for help with his finances.
“I was very lucky to have someone in the family who knows about accounting,” he explained.
“It was obvious that my father manages my finances. Still I think that you should be independent at some point in your life.”
Now that the actor has recently celebrated his milestone 30th birthday, he told the publication that it’s “time to take responsibility.”
While Jonah’s dad takes on the role of his accountant, the 21 Jump Street actor isn’t afraid to spend money to show his appreciation.
Jonah can still remember what he spent his first major film salary on.
“I like spending money for the people I love. I took my first big salary to buy expensive watches for my parents I always wanted to give them,” he recalled.
“Every time they check the time they think of me,” he added cheekily.
