Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson has revealed his daughter quotes his old wrestling insults at him.
The 41-year-old first found fame as a wrestler in the WWE before moving on to a successful acting career.
But despite starring in major films such as The Scorpion King and Fast & Furious 6, it seems his 12-year-old daughter Simone Alexandra is more interested in quoting his wrestling insults.
“[She uses them] on me and on everyone else,” Dwayne explained to People Magazine. “I hear it from her friends, too. It’s great.”
During his time as a wrestler, Dwayne, or The Rock, was known for his catchphrases such as “Can you smell what The Rock is cooking?”
Insults were also his forte, regularly telling his opponents to “Layeth the Smackdown” and “Know your role!”
While he enjoys hearing Simone repeat them back to him these days, he does admit that there is a time and a place for them to be said.
“She has to be careful with them because I cuss so much,” he added to the publication.
Dwayne’s next film project is a role that he says he was “born to play”: Hercules.
Ahead of the film’s debut on Tuesday, Dwayne took to Twitter to share a sneak peak.
“EXCLUSIVE first look..#HERCULES The world’s first superhero. #TilDeathOrVictory” he wrote underneath a photograph of him in full costume, including long hair, a big beard and clad in armor brandishing a weapon.
Dwayne has admitted that even as a child, Hercules was a hero that he greatly admired.
“He was the first superhero,” he told USA Today.
“The No. 1 goal is to make the definitive version of Hercules. We know we’re going to be under a microscope.”
